Zoom Workshop
Wed 29 Jul, 6–7:30pm BST
Composer and turntablist Mariam Rezaei presents an introduction to writing and improvising with turntables.
Focusing on her second album for turntables, SKEEN, the session will consist of a presentation and demonstration of various writing and performance techniques used in the album, with opportunities for questions and discussion from participants.
Covering scratching, beat juggling, turntable tones, drumming, looping and improvisation on two turntables, Mariam talks us through her compositional processes, demonstrating and explaining both the core and experimentally modified turntablist skills she uses.
