Refund policy

In the event of cancellation due to government restrictions, all ticket holders will have the option of claiming a full refund of the ticket cost (not inclusive of booking fees), or alternatively holding the ticket for a rescheduled date. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking and/or get in touch in plenty of time before the event. Any ticket cancellations within 48 hours of the event will not be eligible for a refund.

COVID-19 policy

Social distancing measures will be in place at all times and regular sanitation of the space will be taking place to ensure the safety of ticket holders and staff members. Multiple sanitation stations will be available in place around the event site. Masks must be worn at all times.

Audience members are asked to maintain 2m of distance from others, with the exception of their households and social bubbles in line with Government guidance.

The maximum size of a social bubble will be 6, groups larger than 6 will be split across two bubbles. Wheelchair users will be seated with their social bubbles. Attendees are asked to limit personal possessions to a minimum to assist with social distancing. No lockers or cloakrooms are available onsite. Any persons displaying symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend.

Accessibility

The venue has step-free access and a wheelchair accessible toilet. Nonclassical offers one companion ticket, free of charge, to those who require additional support – please be sure to add the 'Access Companion ticket' add-on to your order before completing. Seating will be available throughout the event for those less able to stand. Getting to St John’s Waterloo

St John’s Waterloo is accessible by bus, tube or train; the nearest station is Waterloo Station. Parking is available in Exton Street on pay bays, Monday to Friday from 8.30am till 6.30pm & Saturday 8.30am till 1.30pm at £5.40 per hour. Payment must be made by phone or app, details can be found on signs along Exton Street. After 6.30pm (1pm on Saturday) parking is free within the bays and on single yellow lines. There are no disabled bays along Exton Street. Parking is also available in car parks in York Road and Cornwall Road, details for both can be found online.

Yfat Soul Zisso

Yfat Soul Zisso is a composer and soprano based in Birmingham, UK. Soul has had her work performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Fidelio Trio. Her interests range from the use of different microtonal sound worlds and textures to children’s books and the exploration of various extended techniques. She is currently studying for a PhD that focuses on creating a quarter-tone compositional language suitable for western singers to learn.

Loré Lixenberg

Born in the UK, Loré Lixenberg has undertaken composition lessons with Andy Vores, Robert Saxton and John Woolwich and masterclasses with Peter Maxwell Davies, and has studied singing with David Mason, Nicole Tibbels, Elizabeth Soderstrom, Martin Isepp and Galina Vishnevskaya.

Her career began performing in physical theatre with Complicite, working with Simon Mcburney on Out of a House Walked a Man for the National Theatre that used texts by the Soviet writer Daniil Harms. Following this, her work has spanned performances on concert platforms and opera scenes to installations and vocal performances with experimental visual and sound artists (Stelarc, Bruce Mclean, David Toop). She has worked with and performed the works of Georges Aperghis, Bent Sørensen, Helmut Oehring, Mark-Anthony Turnage, György Ligeti, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Beat Furrer, Harrison Birtwistle, Peter Maxwell Davies, Earle Brown, Luc Ferrari, Frederic Acquaviva and Gerald Barry at contemporary music festivals worldwide. She has recently published her first artist book, Memory Maps (Editions AcquAvivA), and her first monographic CD, The afternoon of a phone (£@B). She runs Berlin-based projects + raum with composer Frederic Acquaviva.

Rosie Middleton

Mezzo-soprano Rosie Middleton specialises in new music. In 2019 Rosie was artist in residence at Snape Maltings and The Banff Centre, where she collaborated with composers Laura Bowler, Catherine Kontz, Esin Gunduz and Michael Betteridge on Voice(less) – a series of works for voice and electronics exploring voice-loss, voicelessness and things that stop speech or sound. Her work is supported by Arts Council England, Help Musicians, The Finzi Trust and The Marchus Trust.

Future engagements include Ed Nesbitt’s Antigone with the East London Music Group and Jamie Hamilton’s Versionland with Phaedra Ensemble.

Fleur de Bray

Fleur de Bray is a soprano and composer. She has performed extensively as a soloist in major venues and productions internationally, including for Opera North, La Mortella (Ischia) and the Royal Albert Hall. Fleur is also a member of the Philharmonia Chorus Professional Singers Scheme and recently enjoyed her debut as soloist in The Royal Albert Hall for Raymond Gubbay productions.
