NICHOLA SCRUTTON
Nichola was awarded a practice-based PhD from the University of Glasgow (AHRC funded) in 2009 and worked as a Teaching Fellow in Music for two years post-PhD. Alongside other projects and commissions, Nichola is currently producing Phase 2 of a multi-faceted body of work, Night Vision, which has at its heart a vocal ensemble performance developed in 2021 with support from the Creative Scotland Open Fund.

Nichola Scrutton is an award-winning composer, vocalist sound and visual artist who works across a range of mediums and processes including sound art and soundscape composition, performance, radio art, improvisation, writing and drawing.
Nichola has extensive experience as a collaborator in interdisciplinary and participatory contexts. She also works with Sonic Bothy, an inclusive music charity, in the Ensemble and across various projects.
