After four years at the helm of nonclassical, our Executive Director – Eleanor Ward – is moving onto pastures new. El has played a pivotal role in the development of nonclassical – establishing the organisation as a charity, putting artist development at the heart of our live and recorded work, and producing, curating and developing events in unique spaces. These include the two 'Rise of the Machines' orchestral club events in Ambika P3 and Village Underground, curating the River Stage festival at the National Theatre, taking nonclassical to Tallinn Music Week and Sziget Festival in Budapest, and our regular nights at The Victoria, Dalston. Her dedication to developing artists has also led to the creation of our Associate Composers scheme.
El says, "It's been brilliant working with such a loyal and passionate community of artists, composers and, of course, the nonclassical team over the last four years. However, it's now time for me to hand the reins over – and this is an exciting time to join such a dynamic organisation that punches way above it's weight with a cutting edge artistic programme."
