Natalia Franklin Pierce has been appointed Executive Director of nonclassical.
Reporting to our Board of Trustees and leading our small team, Natalia will be in charge of devising and delivering an innovative programme of work across our events, label and artist development programmes.
Specialising in artist development and holding a wealth of experience in producing complex, large-scale events and experimental projects, Natalia joins nonclassical from the London Symphony Orchestra’s Discovery team, where she manages the Panufnik Composers, LSO Soundhub and LSO Jerwood Composer+ schemes. Previously she has worked with Multi-Story Orchestra as a freelance producer, and new music charity Sound and Music.
Natalia says, “I am excited about the opportunity to lead nonclassical, with its focus on bringing cutting-edge experimental work to new audiences through its events and label. It is an organisation I have long-admired, and so it is a huge privilege for me to follow the great work that Eleanor Ward has done over the past four years and continue to work with composers.” Natalia will take up the position at the beginning of August.
Commenting on Natalia’s appointment, Michael Noonan, nonclassical’s Chair, says:
“The Board are pleased to welcome Natalia Franklin Pierce to nonclassical as our new Executive Director. Natalia has the passion for new music that we were looking for, and brings with her a wealth of experience working with composers and music creators, and reaching out to new audiences.
“Natalia will lead the team and our organisation, building on all that has been achieved with great events, and rich relationships with funders and partners. We are keen to help our Associate Composers and artists to create new work; bring in new audiences and make the most of the nonclassical label and our amazing back catalogue.
“We are looking forward to working together.”
