Commissioned by Still Life Magazine and premiered at Sadler's Wells, Antonio Branco and Riccardo T's Q-Hubris is a performance piece that addresses the power structures between idol and worshipper, the expectations and reality of this power dynamic, and what is asked of those who make gods of themselves. With one artist covered in gold leaf, the piece slowly unravels, contrasting the superior against the submissive, beauty and ugliness, and stillness with motion.

Ahead of their performance of Q-Hubris on 21 November at Iklectik, take a look at some images of the piece.

Stay still, let me cover you in gold.

Let me create a God out of you.

I’ll make my shame yours, I’ll make you stay still for me.
