Nonclassical artist Tansy Davies, former Associate Composer Charlotte Harding have both been nominated for awards, as well as composer/ performer Neil Luck, who’ll be performing at our next event on 21 November.
The Ivor Composer Awards recognise the best new music over the last twelve months by UK contemporary composers across classical, jazz and sound art. This year, two Nonclassical artists have been nominated across three different categories.
Tansy Davies, who released her album Troubariritz with us back in 2011, has been nominated in the Stage Works category for her work Cave, which was co-commissioned by the London Sinfonietta and Royal Opera House. In the same category, former Associate Composer Charlotte Harding has been nominated for her work for BalletBoyz, Them. This is the second nomination for Charlotte this year – her work Convo was also nominated in the Community or Educational Project category.
Neil Luck – who collaborates with Jennifer Walshe at our next event on 21 November – is also nominated for his work Regretfully Yours, Ongoing in the Sound Art category.
The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in December. To read the full shortlist, visit The Ivors Academy website.
