Breakfast, storytelling and a dinosaur playing the piano – we had a blast at IKLECTIK for Associate Composer Elischa Kaminer’s curated event: To paint over and to make sense. Violinist Mayah Kadish’s electric virtuosity kicked off the night as she performed with live electronics from Timothy Cape in the premiere of Sarah Nemtsov’s Kadosh. Mayah was joined on stage by pianist Joseph Havlat and trombonist Alex Paxton for Elischa’s work To paint over and make sense. Choreography, storytelling, and wild improvisation came together against a backdrop of a gleeful mess of soil, confetti and more. The night ended on a high with a vibrant DJ set from CHOOC LY.

Gutted to have missed it? We’re working with Sasha Balmazi-Owen to create a video version of the performance, which will be released in the coming months.
