TWINE SISU Percussion Ensemble plays Rolf Wallin
RELEASED ON FRIDAY 7 May 2021 | CD | DL
TWINE is the new album celebrating established composer Rolf Wallin's long standing collaboration with SISU Percussion Ensemble.
Wallin is a prominent figure among Scandinavia's contemporary composers, performed and commissioned internationally. His musical background takes in jazz, avant-garde rock, early music and a thorough traditional classical training. This versatility is reflected in a many-faceted collection of works, covering a diverse range of techniques and expressions: from absolute music for the concert hall to opera and installations; from elaborate computer-aided composition in his instrumental music to strongly intuitive music for the stage. His close collaboration with leading percussion groups and soloists has led to some especially remarkable results. Pieces like Stonewave and Twine have entered the standard percussion repertoire and are regularly played worldwide.
